A consultation and awareness-raising discussion was held with the owners of the institutions regarding the preparatory work that institutions should do for the accreditation renewal to be held from July 1 to August 30
and the guidelines for the renewal of professional licenses of health professionals.
The Deputy Manager of the Qualification Sector, Ms. Tigust Bedada, called on all health institutions to complete their accreditation renewal on time from July 1 to August 30 through the online system launched by the authority.
The manager also noted that institutions should strengthen their competitiveness in the sector at the international level by implementing the set quality standards and improving the level of health services.
They stated that the institutions should inform the authorities in a timely manner when hiring or leaving the health professionals they employ, and they emphasized that they should not hire professionals who have not been in the job for more than 2 years without updating their professional licenses.
They directed institutions to hire professionals by properly verifying their educational background, professional qualifications, and work experience, and they also indicated that hiring qualified and licensed professionals plays a significant role in reducing medical errors and ensuring patient safety.
Finally, a consensus was reached that health facility owners should provide reliable, safe, and quality health services to the community by managing their facilities in accordance with standards, conducting timely qualification renewals, hiring qualified and licensed professionals, and continuously improving the quality of service.
