The authority is working in coordination with the Addis Ababa Peace and Security Bureau and the Addis Ababa Police Commission to make the city’s nightclubs tobacco and drug-free and to prevent problems related to peace and security.

The ongoing coordination work has been carried out with the owners of the establishments, with the aim of ensuring that the city’s nightclubs are healthy, convenient for citizens, and secure in peace and security.

During the consultation, it was noted that tobacco smoking, drug use, and illegal activities in nightclubs are having a negative impact on the health of young people, the peace of the community, and the social life of the city.

To prevent the ongoing problem, institutions have been warned to refrain from these illegal activities and it has been stated that strict action will be taken against institutions that violate the law.

The Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority has called on the public to work closely with government agencies to create a healthy recreational environment for citizens to use, protect the health of the community, and ensure the peace and security of the city.
