The Addis Ababa Food and Medicine Authority (AAFMA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, held a discussion regarding the implementation of the "Health-Net" (Ye-Teninnite) initiative and the regulatory oversight of health and food establishments ahead of the African Union (AU) Summit.
During the meeting, Mr. Endalkachew Tsedal from the Ministry of Health emphasized several key points:
-
The "Health-Net" application for pharmacies, which is showing tangible progress nationwide, must be strengthened and regularly monitored.
-
A formal reporting system for private health facility services needs to be established.
-
National standards must be strictly enforced, and the Master Facility Register (MFR) activities should be intensified.
Deputy Managers of AAFMA, Mrs. Tigist Bedada and Mr. Fisseha Aberra, stressed that both national and city-level projects must be executed in a coordinated and effective manner. They instructed branch leaders and directors to ensure that AU Summit participants receive seamless access to high-standard products and services during their stay.
