Nifas Selat Lafto Branch Office, together with relevant stakeholders and regulatory forum leaders, visited smoke-free institutions.
The program aims to create a smoke-free work and service environment in the city, to recognize institutions that implement tobacco control laws and regulations appropriately, and to encourage other institutions.
During the field visit, it was assessed that the institutions visited had achieved encouraging results by implementing smoke-free policies, creating a healthy environment for customers and employees, and demonstrating compliance with the law.
Accordingly, smoke-free institutions were awarded certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contribution to public health protection and their compliance with the law.
According to the branch officials, Ato Shebelaw said that the fight to reduce tobacco harm can be achieved not only through punishment but also by recognizing and rewarding institutions that properly implement the law.
The authority will continue its efforts to build a healthy and tobacco-free society by encouraging smoke-free institutions, strengthening regulatory activities, and working in collaboration with stakeholders.
