A 3-day free medical program aimed at treating over 9,000 infirm people has been launched in Ledeta Sub-City.

The 3-day free medical program, jointly organized by the Beldeta Sub-City Food and Medicine Branch Office in collaboration with the Beldeta Health Office and private and government health institutions, has officially launched at the Beldeta Sub-City Tesfa Qadir Primary School.

The program was officially launched in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of the Beldeta Sub-City Prosperity Party Office, the General Manager of the Sub-City Health Office, and other leaders.

The free medical program is aimed at helping the poor citizens living in 10 districts of the sub-city who cannot afford medical expenses, and it is planned to treat more than 9,000 beneficiaries for free in the next 3 days.

7 private health institutions and 8 government health centers are providing various medical services in collaboration with the program.

The services provided under the free medical program include eye care, dental care, internal medicine, diabetes and blood pressure testing, laboratory tests, imaging and X-ray services, fat testing, medicine supply, and other necessary medical services.

In addition, it was stated that patients with serious health problems (Critical Cases) will be isolated and transferred to the appropriate medical institution for continuous medical monitoring and treatment.

Speaking at the launch of the program, Ato Belayneh Gebru, Chief Executive Officer of the Food, Medicine and Health Department of the Lideta Sub-city, stated that the program is designed to provide access to health services for the poor citizens and to meet the health needs of the community. He pointed out that this initiative, initiated by a collaboration between government and private health institutions, will bring tangible benefits to the community by strengthening equity and accessibility to health services, and thanked the parties involved in this noble endeavor.
