The authority, in collaboration with the Addis Ababa City Administration Health Bureau, held a joint discussion with health institutions in the city to address gaps in government service delivery.

The Deputy Director of the Health Bureau, Dr. Mulugeta, who opened the forum, said that despite the work done by the government to ensure that the services provided by government institutions in the city meet their standards, reduce the suffering and suffering of the community, and eliminate corruption and malpractices, there are still problems and gaps. He said that the role of the consumer and stakeholders is irreplaceable in creating a consumer who is aware of his rights and obligations by working closely with the consumer and the service provider, enabling efficient service provision in all government institutions.

The Health Bureau Reform Specialist, Ato Mulugeta Admasu, who presented the discussion document downloaded from the Addis Ababa City Public Service and Development Bureau, presented a discussion document on the concepts of service delivery that can help modernize service delivery to meet the needs of the user, in terms of creating a favorable environment for service delivery, in terms of informing the rights and obligations of service providers and recipients.

Although the participants of the forum saw improvements in the services provided by government institutions, there are problems in the accessibility of government health insurance services in the health sector, as well as the lack of resources in government health service institutions, and the personal characteristics of the professionals assigned to provide services are among the problems that prevent customer satisfaction.

Responding to the forum, Ato Enga Ereketa, Deputy Director of the Regulatory Sector of the Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority, said that although the authority is working to solve service delivery problems arising from the community, it is necessary to bring about change at the required level and prevent illegality in the services provided by the authority. He urged the community to stand guard for its own health, create model institutions free from illegal practices in each area, and be a partner in accountability.

Dr. Mulugeta said that since the health services provided by the government are one of the most important, extensive work is being done to expand and make health centers accessible in every area, as well as to ensure the provision and use of medicines and the provision of medical equipment. He said that since there is still no continuous improvement in service delivery and quality, it is necessary to work together and work together to improve service delivery.
