Area Around St. Peter and St. Paul Specialized Hospital Cleared of Packaged Foods and Drinks Exposed to Sunlight

As part of a 90-day action plan, the Gulele Branch Office of the Addis Ababa Food and Medicine Authority carried out an extensive operation to remove packaged foods and drinks from the vicinity of St. Peter and St. Paul Specialized Hospital. These items had been left exposed to direct sunlight—a condition that could pose health risks—and the area has now been cleared.
This exemplary sanitation and regulatory initiative was led by the Branch Office Manager, Ms. Mekdes Kassa, in coordination with the local Regulatory Enforcement Office.
Packaged food and beverage products—which were exposed to direct sunlight in a manner that rendered the environment unhealthy and unsuitable for patients and the surrounding community, and which posed a potential threat to food safety—have been removed from the area around the hospital.
