The Addis Ababa Council Women and Children's Social Affairs Standing Committee conducted a supervision review of the activities carried out by the Authority in the first six months of the fiscal year 2018 in the presence of the Authority's leaders and directorates.
At the forum, the Authority's Planning and Budget Specialist, Ato Samsom Legesse, presented the Authority's major and key activities carried out in the first six months of the fiscal year to the Standing Committee.
The members of the Standing Committee also gave detailed suggestions and comments, stating that the work done was good and encouraging, that better work needs to be done in the future, that there is no suitable workplace at the woreda cluster and that there is a material problem, what work has been done to solve the problem of lack of legal expertise, that a major movement should be done at every level by making the community the owner of control, that some pharmacies sell medicines without a clearly visible expiration date and medicines without a prescription.
Finally, the leaders of the authority, when explaining the ideas and comments raised by the Standing Committee of the Authority, said that the comments given were good, that efforts will be made to solve the problems of malpractice by updating the system and taking action on those that are actually found, that the Authority is focusing on risk-based control work, and that it will continue to work extensively based on the recommendations given.
