July 29/2017

The accreditation sector reviewed the activities carried out in July from the center to the branches,
especially the accreditation work carried out at the center and branches, following the accreditation period from July to December 30.

Opening the forum, the Deputy General Manager of the Authority’s accreditation sector, Ms. Tigust Bedada, said that the ongoing accreditation and accreditation work will enable the completion of the accreditation work within the set deadline.
He said that all institutions should work to achieve 100% performance by assessing the gaps and strengths identified in the process and providing solutions.

The forum discussed the preparatory work done in food and health and health institutions to ensure that they are up to date with the requirements of the master facility registration (MFR), as well as the next steps for institutions that have problems with good governance that cannot be updated.

The branch managers said that they have encountered a shortage of experts, transportation and logistics to complete the renovation within the set time frame, and that it is necessary to pay attention to the problems and accommodate the institutions that come to update in a timely manner.

The Deputy Manager of the sector, Ms. Tigust Bedada, who summarized and focused on the forum, said that it is necessary to enable institutions with good governance problems to come up to standard by conducting monitoring and control works. However, until the problem is resolved, they will not be able to access the qualification verification service. In addition, the master facility registration should be updated and entered separately from time to time. He also set a direction that government hospitals, health centers, and pharmacies should be closely monitored during the qualification renewal process. The head of the department added that it is necessary to make every effort to overcome the shortage of qualified personnel and ensure that the renewal is carried out in a timely manner.
