“Best Dental Facility Award 2026” Competition Officially Launched

Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority in collaboration with Rova Multimedia and Event Organizer officially launched the “Best Dental Facility Award 2026” dental facility competition with a press conference for media institutions.

The competition was launched with a press conference for media institutions in the presence of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Addis Ababa Health Bureau, Food and Drug Authority leaders, as well as representatives from the Mayor’s Office and other invited guests.

The main objective of the competition is to raise the standard of quality, professionalism, hygiene and patient care in the dental sector, and to recognize and recognize institutions that demonstrate excellent performance in the sector and to encourage other institutions to show better performance.

The program was launched by the General Manager of the Authority, Dr. Mulu Imebet Tadesse, who explained that the “Best Dental Facility Award 2026” competition is not just about comparing institutions, but also a program that helps strengthen the quality culture of the dental sector. According to Dr. Mulu Imebet, there are 402 specialty dental clinics in Addis Ababa that have received certification, and interested institutions can register to participate in the competition.

Institutions who want to participate in the competition can register on the website prepared for this competition (best dental facility award Website), and it was stated that the competition will be held in 15 competition areas. The evaluation process will be determined by 70 percent of the criteria prepared by the Authority based on the standard performance, while the remaining 30 percent will be determined by the vote of the user community. This aims to identify the best dental facilities by combining professional standards with user participation.

As a regulatory body, the authority prioritizes public health and safety and monitors dental facilities to ensure that they are legally licensed, employ qualified professionals, and maintain appropriate medical equipment and hygiene standards. The “Best Dental Facility Award 2026” competition is described as a way to support this regulatory work by encouraging facilities to regularly evaluate themselves and improve their standards, thereby helping to expand excellent dental services to the community.
